Traveling to China can be a difficult process if you don’t know what you’re doing. If you end up just following the contrived tourist routes, you’ll walk away from the experience feeling like there’s not much to see. But as with any tourist destination, there’s always some authentic and exciting culture to be found if you look beyond what everyone else is seeing.
Here are some ideas to help you create an unforgettable trip to Lijiang.
Immerse Yourself In The Naxi Culture
In China, it’s often hard to get away from the predominantly Han Chinese way of life. Visiting Lijiang is your chance to see the cultures of China that you don’t get to see in the big cities, the type of culture that intrigues so many. Naxi culture, believed to have originated in Tibet, is the main culture you’ll come across in Lijiang. What you’ll notice most is that this culture expresses itself most to foreigners through its music. Try to find as many performances of Baisha Xiyue as you can on the trip. You’ll be treated to an orchestra of Ancient Chinese instruments such as the flute, zither, and the Chinese lute.

Helsinki is by far the most populous city in Finland. It is located on the southern part on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Helsinki was a sleepy little port town until it was conquered in the early 1800s by Czar Alexander I of Russia, and Helsinki was then made the capital. As a result, neoclassical architecture is to be found in Helsinki, as much of the building in the 1800s was designed to resemble St. Petersburg. However, Helsinki is even more known for its many Art Nouveau buildings designed in the early 1900s. You’ll also find several buildings designed by the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. Aalto is a controversial architect, and once you visit a few of his buildings you’ll probably understand why.
But Helsinki is a modern bustling city, generating about a third of Finland’s wealth, and accounting for about a quarter of the entire population of Finland. There is a rich culture to be found in Helsinki, starting with the National Museum of Finland. The building itself is quite a work of art, but you could easily spend a full day inside. The University of Helsinki also has many museums of worth, including the Natural History Museum and the University Museum.

Bangor is a university town in Gwynedd, North Wales, close to the Menai Straits Bridge which connects the Island of Anglesey to the mainland. Even though it is one of the smallest cities in the British Isles it is the fourth largest city in Wales and has a population of approximately 13,725 excluding the 10,000 students which attend the university.
This city was established in 525 AD by St. Deinol who founded a monastic community on the site of the still standing Bangor Cathedral. So it dates far back into time and as such there are many historic sites in and around Bangor. The word “Bangor” is a word from the Old Welsh which means a “fenced in enclosure”.

Wakefield is located in the heart of United Kingdom which is two hours from London and Edinburgh and one hour from Manchester. Wakefield has a heritage which is very rich and long. Her heritage can be traced back to the Roman times when they had built a church here during the 14th century which became the Cathedral Church of All Saints.
Originally the city was settled on a hill above the river Calder and had a construction around the three main streets named Westgate, Northgate and Kirk gate. Often there has been a speculation that Wakefield was once a site of ancient festival. Earlier it was a prosperous trade centre due to inland cloth and grain port.

Seems no historical destination is without its skeletons in the closet – figuratively and literally! Visitors to St. Augustine can enjoy a number of odd attractions in the Ripley Museum and the Fountain of Youth, but the especially adventurous may also wish to embark on a ghost hunt through Old City’s cobblestone alleyways.

Where’s the best place to find a ghost? Purportedly there are a number of landmarks and buildings where people have claimed to see or hear something not of this realm. If you’re feeling lucky – and brave – you may want to add these sites to your vacation itinerary:
The Casablanca Inn: In the early part of the 20th century, the Casablanca was the place to go to imbibe in a time when buying alcohol was illegal. To alert bootleggers of law enforcement, the owner would wave a lantern from a window to signal their boats. It’s said you can still see those lights to this day.

Gambling is the term used to describe lots of different games, such as cards, blackjack, dice and slot machines, each of which have their own unique history. Gambling is primarily used for entertainment and its popularity has long since expanded away from the wild ride of Las Vegas.
However the city will always be recognised as the hub of gambling, and how could you argue with this statement when Nevada is a state where you can find slot machines in gas stations!
Nevada was one of the first western states of America to legalise gambling and Las Vegas was founded in 1905. However gambling was outlawed again in 1910 but illegal gambling prospered there, and it was in this time period that the city became known for its gambling.

Atlantic City is to be found in New Jersey, in the United States. It is famous for its casinos but also has sandy beaches, shopping centres, a famous boardwalk and of course its spectacular view of the Atlantic ocean. The City does have gambling to thank for its fame, as prior to the legalisation of gambling in New Jersey in 1976, The City was falling into decay.
With the legalisation of gambling came the opening of their first casino – the Resorts International, in 1978. However Atlantic City did not enjoy an instant boom, and fame remained elusive due to restrictions placed on casinos, the games and payoff amounts. This all made the City seem tame in comparison to Las Vegas, and due to its close proximity to New York and other large cities, lured in only day visitors, which is not what a casino centre needs to do well! During the eighties, the City seemed to be in decline yet again as even though gambling was taking place, it wasn’t spreading its benefits to the local hotels, restaurants and shopping centres.
