Barbados East Coast Villas

Most Barbados villas rentals are on the West coast of Barbados, the big names are Sandy lane, Holetown and all along the coast from Holetown to Speightstown. I suppose the big appeal here is that you have more restaurants than you can shake a stick at and the big clincher is it’s on the Caribbean Sea side. It also means that with it been in high demand the price of a Barbados Villa Rental is also that much more and the roads are also busier compared to the quieter East Coast of Barbados.

My job is to go over to Barbados and stay in the villas that we offer, this way we can advise our clients on location, decor, the feel of the place and whether it is suitable for children or the infirm. Most of my visits to Barbados have mainly been on the West Coast, I have stayed in Sandy Lane, Sunset Crest, Villas on the Beach, Schooner Bay, Paynes Bay, The Tennis Village plus many of the Barbados beachfront villas along the West Coast, but this visit I decided to take a trip and spend a few nights on the East Coast of Barbados.

Leamington Cottage Barbados

One of my favourite Barbados Villa Rental is Leamington Cottage, this is located just before Speightstown and is situated right on the beach. Leamington Cottage is the little sister to the master Leamington Pavilion which is just next door. This recently renovated beachfront cottage is in the beautiful grounds of Leamingon Pavilion but it has its own privacy, the sitting room opens to beachside veranda where there is a small plunge pool just to cool you down, but if that does not do it you’ve got the option of the Caribbean Sea just footsteps away.

There are many features that I could talk about re this cottage but one of my favourites was the electric rollaway shutter that completely closes down the main entrance to the beach, it gave me a great sense of safety not that I felt threatened in any way. Most of our Barbados Villa Rentals now have wifi broadband connection, this was especially a comfort for me as I could still keep in touch with my emails and Skype back home, which of course is a free call.

It’s vacation planning time again, and you know for sure that you want to spend it quite differently than in the past. A different vacation because perhaps, the year so far has been a trying and stressful one with all the talk of job cut backs, economic uncertainty, and now even swine flu. Why not just simply take a hike, a hiking vacation that is, and on the peaceful tropical Caribbean island of Barbados. Get back to nature, interact with friendly folks, refresh yourself with, scenic walks, fresh air, and the soothing sounds of the waves against the fine sandy beach.

A Barbados hiking vacation takes you on a journey revealing the uniqueness of Barbados and Barbadians, by way of four scenic, revealing, and positively memorable hikes. The hikes and their accompanying stories highlight how Barbados came into existence, seemingly out of nothing from 1627, when the British settled and transformed a jungle that others rejected, to the jewel it is today. Even the island’s geological formation is a unique story of something “out of nothing”. Many visitors to the island look forward to meeting local village personalities, and learning about outstanding Barbadians of bygone days.
